Economics for Everyday Life (Ekonomia na co dzień) is an educational program implemented in Poland for students in grades 6–8 (ages 12–15). Its goal is to develop practical financial and entrepreneurial competencies in students through engaging, real-life-oriented activities. The program can be integrated into school subjects or used in extracurricular activities. Its key objective is to lay the foundations of financial literacy and entrepreneurial thinking in teenagers.

Key Activities and Student Experience

The central activities involve solving practical tasks: planning personal and family budgets , analyzing career paths , exploring banking services , and developing their own business ideas. Through interactive exercises, economic simulations, and project work, students develop critical thinking, financial responsibility, planning skills, teamwork, and the ability to make sound decisions. Key competencies developed include initiative, creativity, and foundational financial literacy.

Program Features and Principles

The practice combines essential economic knowledge with modern teaching methods. The program is based on the principle of "learning by doing," with an emphasis on values such as responsibility, proactiveness, and rationality. Its uniqueness lies in its comprehensive modular approach (personal potential, entrepreneurship, financial security) and its provision of free, ready-to-use materials for teachers.

Methodology and Structure

The program consists of a series of thematic 45-minute lessons organized into three modules. Each lesson is supported by a detailed script, presentation, and worksheets. The methodology includes project- and problem-based learning, case study analysis, and the use of gamification elements. The activities are designed to actively engage students in understanding concepts like "budget," "savings," "investment," and the "labor market".

Expected Outcomes and Value

The practice fosters an entrepreneurial mindset, financial literacy, self-confidence, and planning abilities. Students learn to make informed decisions, understand the importance of resources, and anticipate the consequences of their actions. For teachers, it offers a ready-made toolkit that is both engaging and easy to use, supporting the development of key 21st-century skills in students. "Economics for Everyday Life" stands as an example of a successful and modern entrepreneurship education program.
