The Blue Bird Foundation was established in 1992 in Veszprém to promote person-centered pedagogical methods. The pedagogical program developed by the foundation focuses on the lower grades of elementary school and received ministerial approval as a unique experimental curriculum. The first student groups started in the 1992/93 academic year, and since then, new classes have continuously joined the initiative. The program aims to support children's individual development and provide teachers with opportunities to explore alternative educational methods. The continuation of the program is ensured by municipal support, provided that suitably trained teachers are available. The foundation operates under the regulations applicable to state-maintained student groups, making person-centered education accessible to more families.
