The Fáy Digital Education Program (Level 1) is an initiative by the OTP Fáy András Foundation, aimed at developing financial literacy and future-oriented thinking among primary and secondary school students. The program is freely accessible, aligned with the National Core Curriculum, and is particularly recommended as a supplement to homeroom lessons, history, technology, natural sciences, or physical education.
Key Activities and Student Experience
The program offers a wide range of interactive and experience-based learning activities that develop financial awareness, career planning, and future-oriented thinking. E-learning modules include materials supplemented with tests, presentations, and videos, which students can work through independently. By watching e-learning videos, they receive valuable information on financial and life-management topics. Live stream sessions are interactive classes delivered via Zoom, where students can also ask questions. Through the Platypus Edu App, learners engage in playful mobile-based education, tackling financial challenges and story-driven missions. In addition, students work on their own ideas, such as developing financial plans or career strategies. These activities allow learners to deepen their knowledge at their own pace, according to their interests, while growing in a playful and motivating environment.
Program Features and Pedagogical Principles
The program breaks away from traditional frontal teaching and instead applies playful, interactive, and motivating forms of learning. The educational content is accessible via mobile devices, supported by e-learning modules and an application for independent study. The materials are organized into grade-level packages, taking age-specific characteristics into account. In addition to financial, economic, and career knowledge, emphasis is also placed on sustainability, media awareness, and EU-related topics. The program can be flexibly integrated into lesson plans, but is also suitable for independent learning. After the live stream sessions, students have the opportunity for consultations and to ask questions, which supports deeper understanding. This approach enables students not only to acquire knowledge but also to develop the ability to make informed decisions and adopt a future-oriented mindset.
Methodology and Structure
The program includes grade-level packages tailored to different age groups. For students in grades 5 through 12, there are separate educational modules covering financial, economic, and career-related topics. The program can be integrated into homeroom lessons, project days, or used for independent learning. Its content is continuously updated, with grade packages and modules being revised throughout the school year.
Expected Outcomes and Value The program helps students develop responsible thinking in financial and life-management matters. Through topics such as career planning, sustainability, and digital security, it prepares them for future challenges. Interactive learning materials, engaging apps, and live-streamed sessions enhance their motivation to learn.
